Our Area

Stamford is a beautiful market town on the Southern edge of Lincolnshire, bordering Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland. The town is best known for its core of 17th and 18th century stone buildings, older timber-framed buildings and five medieval parish churches, all of which have been conserved in order to maintain the town’s original charm.  Stamford was recently voted the best place to live in Britain by the Sunday Times in 2013 and this is reflected in the high demand for property in and around the town.

Lifestyle

Stamford’s town centre offers an array of independent and high street shops and a fine selection of bars and public houses. The town is bursting with historic buildings and boasts 11 churches. Outside of the town, there are many recreational events for residents and families such as Burghley House and Rutland Water which is great for walking, cycling, sailing, water skiing, climbing and much more. There are also bird watching areas and sections of protected land for conservation of wildlife, red kites and ospreys.

Stamford offers a superb choice of both independent and state schooling. The local Endowed and Independent Schools for Stamford, Kingscliffe , Oakham, Uppingham and Oundle are all highly regarded for education and not just in the local area, but throughout the country. They attract many families to purchase a second property in the area to live in during their children’s time at the schools and families often decide to settle permanently in the area.

Transport links

One of Stamford’s many draws is how commutable it is to various neighbouring cities and in particular, London. It is situated just 14 miles from Peterborough, 32 miles from Leicester and 41 miles from Nottingham. London is easily commutable by train via Peterborough and the A1 motorway takes motorists directly into London in under an hour and a half.

Buying and Selling Property in Stamford

Stamford is a highly sought after area and is renowned for its work-life balance. With London on the doorstep via road or rail links, Stamford offers the working family the best of both worlds. House prices have risen tremendously since the passing of the recession due to popular demand for the town, making property in Stamford a sound and lucrative investment. Areas outside of Stamford, such as Rutland and Oakham are also proving incredibly popular due to high demand and relatively limited supply.
