Easter Tree

Making an Easter tree is a fun and easy craft activity, which is suitable for all ages. To start, gather some bare twigs or small branches from your garden or a local park. Place the twigs into vase or masonry jar, feel free to pack this out with coloured tissue paper or sand and tiny pebbles to hold the branches in place. Then, decorate the branches with pastel-coloured Easter eggs, bunny and chick ornaments, and ribbons. If you want to make your own decorations, try painting wooden eggs or cutting out bunny shapes from felt. Once you’re finished, place your Easter tree in a prominent spot in your home, warning if you hang brightly coloured chocolate eggs on the tree you might have to top them up a few times as they tend to magically disappear!

Easter Wreath

Making an Easter wreath for your front door is a great way to welcome the Spring season and add some Easter charm to your home. First, we need a wreath base – this can be a foam or grapevine wreath from a craft shop, like this grapevine wreath from Hobby Craft, or you can make your own using a circular frame and some floral wire. Once you have your base, gather your decorations – pastel-coloured flowers, Easter eggs, bunny or chick ornaments, butterflies and ribbon all work well. Use floral wire to attach the decorations to the wreath base, spacing them out evenly around the circumference of the wreath. You can also add a bow or other embellishments to the top or bottom of the wreath. Once you’re finished, hang your Easter wreath on your front door using a wreath hanger, and enjoy!

Bunny Bunting

For this delightful project you will need some pastel coloured card, PVA glue, a hole punch some twine or string, pom poms, scissors and a pencil. Onto a piece of stiff card, draw your bunny shape with prominent ears, if you are not confident drawing a bunny you can use a bunny template from the internet like this clipart one. Once you have your template, trace around your template on each of your coloured cards, making sure you have enough bunnies for your bunting. Now cut these out. Using your hole punch pierce a hole in the tips of each of your bunny’s ears. Thread your twine or string (or even wool) through the ears. Once you have strung your bunnies, now we add the tails. Add a blob of PVA glue to the lower middle section of your bunny and press a pom pom firmly in place. Leave to dry and there we have it, bunny bunting! A gorgeous alternative to the bunny bunting, try your hand at making this shabby chic fabric carrot bunting from Country Living.

Painted Rock Chicks

These simple but very effective painted rock chicks are sure to raise a smile from anyone who sees them! The concept is simple, you paint a rock yellow, with a beak, eyes and eyebrows (they work), then either decorate the path leading up to your door, or hide the rock chicks around your neighbourhood for local children to find. If this is your first foray into rock painting, here is a great guide by craftsbyamanda.com
