When it comes to highlighting kitchen accessories it can be rather difficult to keep to a low number. There are so many wonderful time, space and energy saving devices it has been a real chore to decide which ones to include. But we have narrowed it down, so please find below our 7, 10, 12 must have kitchen accessories for 2022!

One of my personal favourites, the Velvetiser from Hotel Chocolat gently heats and froths the milk whilst melting the real Hotel Chocolat chocolate shavings into a devilishly delicious hot chocolate drink. With a wide range of flavours available these can be rather addictive. The verdict – not great for the waistline but your tastebuds will thank you!
Breville Heat Soft Hand Mixer
There are two game changing elements to this new hand mixer from Breville: the neat storage box that keeps the utensils and cord together (no more playing “hunt the missing whisk in the back of the cupboard”) and the heat soft function that has been designed to gently soften butter by expelling warm air as you whisk. No longer do we have to wait for solid butter to come up to room temperature! The unit is rather large but is surprisingly light weight. If you have a new hand mixer on your shopping list this is definitely a strong contender.

A rather neat machine from the clever folk at Ninja, this is a 6 in 1 cooker it can: Air Fry, Bake, Roast, Reheat, Dehydrate and Grill. This amazing reusable baking tray liner from Lakeland will stand up to 5 years or more of constant use. You can use it to for icing, rolling out on or for chocolate work as well as line baking trays, cake tins and even frying pans and best of all it is dishwasher safe. Think of all the tin foil and baking parchment you will save!
OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer
Definitely one of those gadgets you never knew you needed, but if you have an avocado lover in the family then this little fellow is going to save lots of stress and mess! As Oxo says it will split, pit and scoop your avocado perfectly every time!
KitchenCraft MasterClass Deluxe Stainless Steel Mash Potato Ricer
This gadget from KitchenCraft has been on the market for a while and is another one I swear by! If you are a fan of lumpy mash potato then this isn’t for you, for the rest of us who love smooth and creamy mash, this is a must have addition to your utensil drawer! The only slight negative, and it is only a slight negative, is it can be a little cumbersome to clean.
Oliver Bonas Glass Straws
Another great eco product, these pretty, reusable glass straws come in a pack of six, with three curved and three straight straws. Either coloured or clear they have the cutest little cleaning brush so you can make sure all residue is removed before storing away to use another day.
Morphy Richards Kitchen Scales with Jug
A must have for all home bakers, these scales are a 3in1 washing up saver! The digital scales are packed with useful features, the main one being it is a jug – easy pouring = No more Yorkshire Pudding batter all over the worktop! It also has a tare function which can reset to zero when adding additional ingredients. Now that is handy!

A beautifully simple idea that I can’t believe I don’t already have in my kitchen. The can colanders come in a pack of three and will effortlessly drain canned goods without using bulky colanders that quickly fill up the dishwasher.

Stop scrabbling around with forks trying to create the perfect pulled meat, instead grab some meat claws. These claws will pull meat apart in minutes and are also useful for handling and transferring pork, poultry and beef!
Alba Oil and Vinegar Bottle
The second Oliver Bonas item to make our list, this oil and vinegar bottle is a work of art! With two separate compartments, one clear area for oil and the amber-tinted section for vinegar, both have a cork stopper and once set on your dinner table will be the show stopper!
Kenwood Titanium Chef Baker XL
Our final item is the rather marvellous Titanium Chef Baker from Kenwood. This machine is all the help you need, no matter what you are baking. Need to fold a featherlight souffle – no problem! It comes with two nesting bowls, smart power control, a built-in scale and more add on accessories than you can shake a stick at. I particularly like their “unique planetary mixing which covers the entire side, centre and bottom of the bowl.” Now that I have to see.
